Although I haven't graduated yet from Stony Brook University, I am indeed a senior studying math education. And even though I may be somewhat young, I am also certified as an instructor of secondary mathematics in the state of New York. Not impressed by my qualifications? Let me explain more. I also have worked extensively with high school and middle school students. These students have had a wide variety of skill sets and knowledge levels. Obviously, not everyone comes into the classroom knowing everything, so I make it my duty to really get down to the most basic concepts in mathematics. Unfortunately, many people are turned off by the idea of crunching numbers, sitting in a room talking about equations and various other higher-level math subjects. I feel fortunate that I enjoy math very much, and have throughout my life. It is therefore one of my missions while teaching students to show them how much fun math can really be. Ultimately, I want everyone to feel comfortable in the classroom, especially when it comes to doing the more complex stuff that seems may be more intimidating. Staying fit and going to the beach are my favorite activities to do in my spare time.
